This is not your everyday audio visual engineering/integration position. In your career at DMIG you will be a valuable part of a team of dedicated professionals focused on the special demands of the medical & healthcare industry. The DMIG Field Engineer is the single point of responsibility for commissioning of assigned projects. He/she is charged with the responsibility of working with assigned project managers and programmers in providing complete, full functional integrated audio visual systems. The Field Engineer position has two main focal points: (a) commissioning racks in the shop, and (b) commissioning systems in the field to the point that these systems are ready for client training. A Field Engineer also may provide customer training.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Project Manager (day-to-day scheduling)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages own time to perform within defined schedule.
• Interfaces with assigned project manager and client contacts.
• Perform a full quality control check for all fabrication and installation efforts including but not limited to Infocomm “Best Practices” and DMIG standards
• Perform all software / firmware configuration uploads and checks to ensure the system performs to both the manufacturer’s specifications and DMIG’s Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Provide clear and concise documentation on any configurations implemented or needed for successful implementation (i.e. network configurations, video settings, DSP settings, etc.)
• Coordinate any updates/changes of systems drawings per the QMS with Operations, Engineering, Regulatory and Service departments within the DMIG.
• Perform system calibrations for audio and video on installed systems
• Coordinate and certify deployment of system control with DMIG’s remote programming support team
• Complete system test and acceptance / certifications commissioning for installed solutions both remotely and onsite at client’s premises per the established QMS
• Perform R&D tasks both in house and in the field as needed for equipment used by DMIG
• Support all types of technical escalations from the field team and work with other team members on resolutions as needed. These will include service and maintenance of all warrantied equipment and software.
• Provide In-service training and support for deployments. This will require training physicians and nurses on these systems within an active operating room or other active clinical spaces within a hospital.
• This position will require significant amounts of travel including client sites and other DMIG offices as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Expert knowledge of Industry and standards in AV systems design and integration
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability and do advanced troubleshooting
• Be a team leader and possess excellent leadership qualities
• Expert knowledge of audio principles and the ability fine tune and troubleshoot digital audio systems
• Must be well versed in interacting with networks (wired or wireless) and must be able to support networked solutions for video conferencing, VOIP audio conferencing, and control
• Current CTS-I and/or CTS-D certifications
• Certified on the distribution of all standard digital video formats
• Certified on the industry’s Tier 1 DSP products; i.e. BiAmp, Qsys, ClearOne, etc.
• Certified on most Tier 1 Video-conferencing platforms and manufacturers; i. e. Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom Telepresence installation, Skype, etc.
• Familiarity with testing and measuring instrumentation commonly used in the network and AV industries; i. e., oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, fiber and cable continuity meters, etc.
• Cisco Network experience a real plus.
• Familiarity in working within a medical environment a plus
• 5 years or more of related industry experience
*As a member of the DMIG you will be provided specialized training regarding the working in and around clinical areas as well as sterile environments. You will also be required to participate in any national certification/training program that maybe necessary for DMIG to meet its national, state and local health and security regulatory obligations. These certifications will require a program of continuing education as well as various health precautions and inoculations that may be necessary to obtain certification.
